Volunteers to deliver meals are needed. The meal site has closed due to Covid-19, therefore the increase in home delivery has expanded. Meal delivery is only possibly with volunteers. This would consist of one hour daily. Meal pick up is at 11. You do not have to deliver Monday through Friday, you can let them know your availability. Please contact the Logan County Aging Service for more information at 282-4204. They will be happy to hear from you.
Well balanced meals are the heart of the program. Logan County Aging Service with the assistance of the Council on Aging have served 930 participants weekly meals. This means that 930 seniors are given a meal Monday through Friday, some are also given shelf stable meals and frozen meals to help them through the weekend.
The local KIWANIS chapter made a $1,500.00 donation for our seniors. Food items, snacks and toiletries are a great help! When delivering these items they were so thankful. They could not wait to go through the bags to see the goodies. Most of our seniors have been sheltered in place for some time now and these bags made them smile. So thank you for thinking of them during these difficult times.
